Colorado nORML Officially Endorses Ean Tafoya for Next Denver MayorMedia Advisory: February 28th, 2023 For Press Inquiries: Ashley Weber 720.319.7337 coloradoNORML@gmail.com Sharron Pettiford Colorado NORML Officially Endorses Ean Tafoya for Denver City Mayor Denver, Colorado: The Colorado NORML organization officially endorses Ean Thomas Tafoya for Denver City Mayor in the April 4th, 2023 election. Colorado NORML’s mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to protect the responsible use of cannabis by adults and to serve as an advocate for consumers to assure they have access to high quality marijuana that is safe, convenient and affordable. Ean is a fourth-generation Denverite who has consistently fought for the accessibility of plant medicine. He was a part of the legislative process to legalize recreational cannabis 10 years ago and advocated from a pro-cannabis, pro-health and anti-carceral lens. Where will cannabis policy be 10 years in the future? As Mayor, Ean has stated he will continue to fight to make sure that communities most impacted by the war on drugs, particularly Black and Brown communities, will be centered in the policy conversation. This begins with tackling the barriers and restrictions that have kept them from benefiting from the cannabis industry, and advocating for reparations and expungements for those impacted by marijuana criminalization. He will also fight to protect medical marijuana access and support the industry in leading the way on sustainability. Ean has always fought for the working families of Denver and will continue to advocate for justice as Mayor. “Running for Denver Mayor, Ean has shown incredible leadership and ability to deliver on the policy solutions that Denver needs. He will bring everyone together through the process and center equity while doing it. We have the opportunity to elect a Mayor that brings his ancestral knowledge, horticulture education, and political skills to our work.” said Executive Director of Colorado NORML Ashley Weber. Ean will use his experience to bring public banking, state and federal funds to Denver to address our needs. From upgrading critical infrastructure to reduce consumer costs and emissions, to creating local business and union jobs, to ensuring every person has housing, Ean’s plans work for our city and align with NORML’s values. "For too long, the city’s government hasn’t worked for communities like mine. They don’t listen to the communities most impacted by their policies. It’s time for a Mayor who not only brings our communities to the table, but builds a new table together. Together we Rise!” – Ean Tafoya, candidate for Mayor.
