Colorado NORML also supports NORML's mission of moving public opinion sufficiently to achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use of cannabis by adults is no longer subject to criminal sanction.

BIO: Born and raised in southeastern Virginia, my family started bringing me, as a child, to Colorado in 1975. That exposure began my love affair with the mountains -- and Aspen in particular. I moved to Colorado in 1989 to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder. After undergraduate school, I lived briefly in Crested Butte and enjoyed life as a skier. Later, I attended the University of Denver, College of Law. From 1999 until 2002, I practiced as a Colorado Deputy State Public Defender, working throughout the state. I moved to New York for a short time, and then Aspen, delving into complex, mass tort litigation, which focused on illnesses caused by asbestos, for a large NY-based law firm, and began taking on criminal cases again for my own boutique firm. BIO: Mr. Small was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to participate in the Amendment 64 Marijuana Task force. The members of the A64 Marijuana Task Force were charged with finding practical and pragmatic solutions to the challenges of implementing Amendment 64 while at all times respecting the diverse perspectives that each member brought to the work of the Task Force. The Task Force's job was to respect the will of the voters of Colorado in implementing Colorado retail marijuana law. In his free time, Mr. Small enjoys telemark skiing, reading science fiction/fantasy and hockey (as a player and a fan). Mr. Small attended Syracuse University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Upon graduation, Mr. Small relocated to the Roaring Fork Valley, working as an information technology consultant for several years.
