“Rep. Edie Hooton has been a stand-up lawmaker for Cannabis having passed legislation expanding the list of conditions that qualify for medical marijuana and co-sponsored many other cannabis legislations that is now law. She supports ending the federal prohibition of marijuana and has shown her support of Colorado's legalization. We look forward to a 2021 legislative session with her and Bills we can create for a better Colorado” says executive director of Colorado NORML, Ashley Weber
Rep. Edie has dedicated herself to serve the State of Colorado and will be sure in her years at the Capitol that she is your voice. Her belief that everyone in Denver deserves better – access to medicine, housing, reducing plastic use, and everything needed day to day.
She has fought – and won – on behalf of marijuana access at the state level and feels the federal prohibition of marijuana has been a wasteful, harmful, failure enabling unnecessary surveillance of Americans and provided a pretext for law enforcement to detain or search Americans, often people of color who committed no other crime creating time-consuming burdens for the legal and law enforcement system.
